Now, there are four metro lines have been put into operation. They have a total length of 124 km, with 84stations, and form a line network of the shape of a cross plus a semicircle.

Dec., 2000	Line 3, Phase I	40.23	29	surrounds the CBD areas of Shanghai and mainly consists of elevated lines.
Dec., 2006	Line 3, Phase II
Dec. 2005	Line 4 with its “C” shaped construction	26.60 kilometers	13	connects Line 3, and forms a circle.
